Holdings:

The Virginia Court made the following holding:
  • On appeal, courts discard all evidence of the accused that conflicts with that of the Commonwealth and regard as true all credible evidence favorable to the Commonwealth and all fair inferences reasonably deducible therefrom.
  • The fact finder, who determines the credibility of the witnesses and the weight accorded their testimony, may accept or reject the testimony in whole or in part. The fact finder is also entitled to disbelieve the self-serving testimony of the accused and to conclude that he is lying to conceal his guilt.
